The Art of Storytelling as a Life Skill
At storyREC, we believe that the ability to tell stories is one of the most important skills a person can have. Storytelling is at the heart of society: it shapes friendships, relationships, careers, and communities. Knowing how to share your experiences, listen to others, and communicate ideas effectively is a skill that opens doors in every part of life.
This is why we work with young people: to give them the tools to master the art of storytelling in all its forms—film, writing, photography, audio, and digital media. Through our programs, participants learn that telling stories is not just about expression – it’s about connecting with others, inspiring change, and creating opportunitie
YOUTH CAMPS
Our projects use storytelling as the central tool to address real-life challenges, including:
Digital Detox
Aan immersive journey where participants step away from the noise of social media and screens to reconnect with themselves and others. Through storytelling challenges, reflective exercises, and hands-on creative labs, they discover how to communicate deeply, inspire curiosity, and craft stories that leave a lasting mark.
Fighting Online Hate and Prejudices
A bold, action-driven project where young storytellers learn to confront stereotypes, reduce conflict, and combat online negativity. Through creating narratives that challenge biases and amplify unheard voices, they become agents of change, proving that stories have the power to shift mindsets and spark real-world impact.
Breaking Communication Barriers
Transformative workshops designed to tear down walls between people. Participants engage in collaborative storytelling, role-playing, and cultural exchange exercises that foster empathy, understanding, and real human connection, turning differences into opportunities for dialogue and shared growth.
Community Stories
A hands-on mission where participants dive into their own neighborhoods and beyond, capturing stories that matter. They learn to document lives, challenges, and triumphs, transforming ordinary experiences into powerful narratives that inspire action, mobilize resources, and leave a tangible mark on the community.
Our storytelling camps are open to youth from across Europe, not just from our home region of Abruzzo. By collaborating with international organizations, we bring together diverse perspectives, allowing participants to learn from each other and broaden their understanding of the world.
