I’m Davide, a filmmaker and founder of storyREC. For years I’ve been chasing stories — from the narrow streets of central Italy to the red dust roads of Kenya, where a short film I made changed everything for me.
Today, I’m on a journey that connects all those stories together: traveling from Italy without ever taking a plane. What began as a route from Italy to China has grown into a full circumnavigation of the planet.
This project isn’t about the destination – it’s about the pace. The road, the waiting, the small details we miss when we rush. Along the way, I’m connecting with those who believe that slowing down is not losing time, but finding it.

The Sense of Waiting was born from a simple question: what happens when we stop rushing? In a world that moves faster every day, this journey slows down – crossing countries step by step, by land and sea. It’s a way to see what speed usually hides: the silence between places, the people along the way, and the beauty of a life lived at a slower rhythm.
Choosing not to fly changes everything. It means moving at the pace of the world, allowing distance to be felt again. Every delay, every waiting room, every border crossed becomes part of the story – not an interruption, but the essence of it.
The Sense of Waiting is an invitation to slow down. In a time when distance has been reduced to flight times and screens, the film challenges the idea that speed defines progress. It shows that another way of living is still possible.
